Daniel 12
1 2 And at that time shall Micha’el stand, the Sar HaGadol who standeth over the banim of thy people, and there shall be an et tzarah (time of tribulation), such as has not been from the existence of a nation to that time; and in that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the Sefer.
2 And rabbim of them that sleep in the admat aphar (dust of the ground) shall awake, some to Chayyei Olam (Everlasting Life), and some to reproaches (shames) and Dera’on Olam (Everlasting Contempt, Abhorrence, Aversion, i.e., Everlasting Gehinnom.[T.N. Onesh Olam is here made more fearsome in light of the prevalent neglect of Scripture in favor of non-Biblical studies]).
3 And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to tzedakah (righteousness) as the kokhavim (stars) leolam v’ed (forever and ever).
4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the devarim (words), and seal the sefer, until the Et Ketz (Time of the End): rabbim shall run to and fro, that da’as (knowledge) may be increased.
5 Then I Daniel looked, and, hinei, two others were standing, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.
6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the Ketz of these wonders?
7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto Shomayim, and swore, By the One who liveth haolam (forever), it shall be for a time, times, and a half a time; and when there is an end of breaking in pieces the yad Am Kodesh (power of the Holy People), all these things shall come to an end.
8 And I heard, but I understood not. Then said I, Adoni, what shall be the end of these things?
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel, for the devarim are closed up and sealed till the Et Ketz (Time of the End).
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and refined; but the reshaim (wicked) shall do wickedly; and none of the resha’im shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
11 And from the time that HaTamid (the Daily Sacrifice) shall be taken away, and the Shikkutz Shomem (Abomination Causing Desolation) set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety yamim.
12 Ashrei (blessed) is he who waiteth, and attains to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty yamim.
13 But thou, go till HaKetz; for thou shalt rest, and shall arise to thy allotted inheritance at the Ketz HaYamin (End of Days).
I already described last time that the different translations give a different explanation to this text:
By the One who liveth haolam (forever), it shall be for a time, times, and a half a time; and when there is an end of breaking in pieces the yad Am Kodesh (power of the Holy People), all these things shall come to an end.
But this one is the correct one.
And when there is an end of breaking the yad Am Kodesh (the power of the Holy People).
1.- How is it that a powerlessness has arisen in/among or among the Holy people?
2.- What is meant by it?
This is the answer: Resha'im - evil-doers, the unrighteous persons, the wicked, unrighteous, evildoers, wicked ones, wicked
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and refined; but the reshaim (wicked) shall do wickedly; and none of the resha’im shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
It is a common misconception that the text refers only to the wicked. However, a careful reading reveals:
>Many will be purified, made white, and refined;<
This passage speaks to those who believe in the G-d of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov. Faith can be professed in name and maintained in faith, but in word and deed it requires determination, and total dependence on the Ruach HaKodesh.
Who undergoes this purification? It includes both Jews and Christians.
In the Torah, the crossing of the Jordan River symbolizes the transition from life to death (From flesh to Spirit) and the entry into the Promised Land, meaning depending on the heart of the Father Himself, which signifies unity with Him.
Gethsemane, which means "Oil Press," symbolizes the end of self-reliance and the beginning of anointing, the turning away from fleshly works and thoughts and then entering the holy path of G-d.
The names and descriptions may vary, but the result remains unchanged. It's about self-denial, relying entirely on Him in all that you are and do.
And again, the terminology and descriptions may vary, but the outcome is consistent. It involves self-abnegation and unwavering faith in Him in all aspects of being and action.
When both Jews and Christians reach this juncture, there is potential for unity!
Not forged through coercion or aggression, but through the same Ruach Hakodesh!
Christians are integrated in a manner akin to those who journeyed from Egypt to the Promised Land, with the Israelites
The circumcision of those who accompanied the Israelites from Egypt occurred in the wilderness, specifically at Gilgal.
This event transpired after crossing the Jordan River, ( death to self) just prior to the observance of Passover (Pesach) in the Promised Land.
Walking twelve rounds on Mount Tabor, after placing twelve stones in a circle and blowing the Shofar.
The name Gilgal: Summary
Meaning
A Circle Of Stones, A Wheel, A Rolling Away
Etymology
From the verb גלל (galal), to roll.
Gilgal, known in Hebrew as גִּלְגָּל (Gilgāl) and also referred to as Galgala or Galgalatokai of the 12 Stones. Mentioned 39 times, notably in the Book of Joshua, Gilgal is the site where the Israelites encamped after crossing the Jordan River (Joshua 4:19 – 5:12). The term 'Gilgal' translates to "circle of stones"
Me on Mount Tabor Sounding The Shofar in 2005
In 2005, I visited Israel for the first time. It marked the start of my journey after discovering my Jewish heritage from both my father and mother. We were guests of our friend Paul Sherbow, and it was there that I felt guided by G-d to visit Mount Tabor. I laid down 12 stones, circled them 12 times, and then sounded the shofar. For the tribes of Israel and their unity, with each other. Israelites and those who are still living in the diaspora.
What I did not know was, that Gilgal means “ circle of twelve stones.”
I would like to conclude with a brief testimony. Since my childhood, I have heard the voice of G-d. In June 1967, I received a message: "He Who Promised Is Faithful," and it was inscribed in my poetry album. At that time, I was completely unaware of my heritage, just as I was unaware of the Six-Day War.
The Six-Day War (Hebrew: מִלְחֶמֶת שֵׁשֶׁת הַיָּמִים, Milhemet Sheshet Ha Yamim; Arabic: النكسة, an-Naksah, "The Setback" or حرب 1967, Ḥarb 1967, "War of 1967," also known as the June War, 1967 Arab–Israeli War, or Third Arab–Israeli War, was fought between 5 and 10 June 1967 by Israel and the neighboring states of Egypt (known at the time as the United Arab Republic), Jordan, and Syria.
Indeed, I underwent a long period of purification. After leaving primary school, my faith was challenged. At my new school, the theory of evolution was introduced, and gradually, my trust and belief in the G-d of Israel diminished.
It took a long period filled with suffering, sorrow, and illness before I reached a point where I totally died to self. But it started when I cried out "G-d, if You exist, help me." At that precise moment, Yochanan, whom I had met on a bus to Spain during a brief holiday, called me. He felt an urgent voice instructing him to call me immediately. We had only spent time together on the bus and during those ten days in Spain together with my girlfriend, with whom I had won the trip. Afterward, we lost contact.
But somehow he dialed my number. And he came in my life, for a short moment, I thought.
Yet, G-d had different plans, and now we have been married for 34 years, having known each other for 35.
I believe this is just the start of my writings about the book of Daniel and the helplessness felt by many of His children.
⋆。˚I hope this initial letter marks the beginning of the journey I want to take you on, because that journey, a journey I took myself, brought me into the heart of the G-d of Avraham Yitzchak and Yaakov!
